Testimonials

"Listening to you talk about what you're doing for Sebastian, how much thought and time you're putting into helping him, is to us the embodiment of caring. You can probably appreciate how much that means to us as parents.

Plus, we can see a real difference in Sebastian now, and in his level of confidence in himself. He advocates for himself more, and does so more assertively. He has a better sense of who he is, what he likes, and what he wants to do. Sometimes that creates a challenge for us as parents (so slow down!), but it's a good challenge to have to deal with - we're all learning and adapting.

You really worked hard to understand him, and reached him at a level that's hard for us as parents to access. He really responded to you and enjoys the sessions with you. We are all very grateful.”

“As a High school athlete in his senior year, I was feeling overwhelmed about my recruitment and figuring out where I wanted to go to university, which drastically affected my play on the court. I was so anxious about my performance on the court that I ended up playing worse more often than good.

When I found Mr. Hnatiw, he helped me get back to my normal play, and even elevated my performance on the court. He taught me the keys to staying calm under pressure and how to build confidence both on the court and in life.

As a high performance athlete, I believe that many people overlook the importance of improving themselves mentally in sport, and would definitely recommend learning from Mr. Hnatiw how to do so, as he has helped me come a long way.”

“As athletes, we train in a variety of ways, whether it’s sport-specific skills, conditioning, strength or other modes. However, many forget that the brain is arguably our most important asset; it too must be trained to work for us rather than against us, just as we must train our bodies to perform in sport. Mental performance is a cutting edge field that more and more elite athletes are beginning to view as an opportunity to take their game to the next level. Breathing exercises, guided meditation, positive self-talk and visualization are just a few practices I have implemented over my collegiate and professional careers. These tactics have helped me channel my thoughts and emotions, maintain focus, and play in a more relaxed state. Mental performance practice has been crucial to my success both on and off the court; I would not be where I am today without it.

Mental performance is a complex field that requires collaboration, careful planning, active learning, and repetition. I believe it is of tremendous importance to select the right coach in order to get the most out of your experience.
